About Bodhi Quinnell
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adopt/
Bodhi is a loving, affectionate and gorgeous boy who is excited to find
his forever home! He is friendly and playful with both dogs and people,
but also content to just rest and relax. He’s been lovely and gentle
with the puppy he shares his foster home with.
Whether you are curled up on the couch, working from your home office or
out and about for a walk, Bodhi is just happy to be by your side. He
will be your shadow and your constant companion. One look in his soulful
brown eyes and he will steal your heart!
He is an incredibly special and emotionally intelligent dog. He always
seems to know who needs comfort and a cuddle. Bodhi knows most basic
commands, is completely house trained and very good at adapting to new
households.
Bodhi would be best suited to a home with adults or a family with school
aged children. He’s quite big and can boisterous, which may be
difficult for an older or frailer person. Bodhi must go to a cat-free
household.
While Bodhi loves his people, he is content being left at home alone for
short periods, preferably with a doggy door for indoor/outdoor access.
Bodhi is generally good on the lead, but he can be prone to lunging
towards cats, birds and possums. He is an athletic and strong boy and
would enjoy an active household where he is able to get regular walks
(preferably 2x daily). Bodhi is very playful and can be a bit jumpy.
Bodhi is generally good with car travel.
He is very friendly and non-reactive to other dogs on walks. He would be
very happy to join a household with another dog, but would also be
content as the only dog in the home as long as his people spend quality
time with him.
Bodhi has always been a much loved and cared for family member and he is
looking forward to finding his perfect forever home soon! He will adore
you and very quickly let you into his heart.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Ok with children over 10. Weight: 21kg.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
