About Birdie
Och aye! Say a warm hello to Birdie, an 8-month-old West Highland White Terrier with a heart as big as the Highlands and a spirit as bright as a summer's day on the loch.
This bonnie wee soul has found herself in the shelter through no fault of her own, after a change in her previous humans' circumstances. But don't let that worry ye - Birdie is already a crackin' little pup, with heaps of love to give and plenty of her puppy schooling under her belt.
Birdie's had a braw start to life, having been lovingly raised around very young bairns (Kids) and other dogs - she's proven herself to be a real sociable sweetheart. She's also been gently introduced to cats, and with a slow, steady approach, could certainly welcome a feline flatmate into her new clan.
This clever lass is well on her way with her training and socialising, and just needs a home willing to carry on with her learning. She's eager to please, full of Westie charm, and has that cheeky glint in her eye that'll melt even the chilliest Scottish winter.
Birdie would thrive in a home where she can be included in family life - walks through the glen, cosy nights by the fire, and plenty of playtime. She's a proper companion, loyal and loving, with a wee dash of Westie mischief to keep you on your toes.
If your home could use a little more joy, a lot more cuddles, and a four-legged friend who'll be as loyal as a Highland sunrise, then Birdie might just be the lass for you.
Come meet this pure gem - your heart will be hers faster than you can say "Lochness Monster"
To book a meet and greet with Birdie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au .

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
