About Cooper
Are you wanting a tiny bundle of personality wrapped in soft curls and mischief.?
Well, that's Cooper a beautiful Toy Poodle aged 3 years and 2-month-old.
Cooper came into care from a breeder and is now ready for a lifelong home with a family and lots of love.
Cooper has had all vet worked completed, including dental.
Cooper weighs 4.7kgs
Cooper once shy and uncertain, has blossomed into a cheeky, loyal, and affectionate companion.
Cooper is the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart while lounging upside down on your couch.
Cooper is wonderfully good-natured and gentle around young toddlers, always choosing to observe and follow their lead rather than get underfoot.
Despite his tiny frame, he fancies himself a bit of a guard dog, regularly checking the perimeter of the backyard and letting the neighbor’s dog know he’s on patrol. He absolutely adores his foster brother, shadowing him throughout the day, playing, snuggling, and sharing beds like the best of mates. While he isn’t the type to be constantly on your lap, he’s never far away – often found snoozing contentedly on the couch in his favorite spot, upside down, feet in the air, looking very content with himself.
He loves a good cuddle if invited but also respects your space and independence.
Cooper thrives with another dog for company and must go to a home where another dog is already present. He struggles with anxiety when left completely alone but is calm and content for long hours if his fur sibling is nearby.
He does need access to a backyard and enjoys spending time outside, though he’s not confident using a dog door and startles easily with sudden movements or things coming toward him. Patience and a gentle environment are key to helping this little guy feel secure.
Toilet trained and well-mannered, Cooper knows the bedtime routine and happily goes out for his last ‘toilet’ before bed. He has a strong bladder and will hold through the night without issue, unless he’s in a particularly stubborn mood – he is a Toy Poodle, after all.
He’s exceptionally food motivated and will happily assume the role of sous chef in your kitchen, waiting with laser focus for anything to drop. He’s even been known to extend his tiny arms through baby gates in hopes of snagging a toddler snack. Despite his love for food, Cooper has a sensitive stomach, so care needs to be taken to ensure he doesn’t overindulge or eat anything unsuitable.
True to his quirky nature, Cooper delights in spontaneous bursts of energy, flying off the couch with dramatic flair or engaging in full-speed zoomies around the house. His excitement sometimes results in a comical Scooby Doo-style run on the spot before takeoff.
He loves his toys – especially when he’s enthusiastically dismantling them – and can spend ages amusing himself with plushies, balls, (but squeaky ones can scare him).
Bath time and brushing are no fuss at all with Cooper; he sits perfectly still, as if he’s at the doggy day spa.
While he’s not yet a confident traveler and isn’t thrilled about car rides, Cooper has started to enjoy going for walks. Although his foster family hasn’t had the time to build this into his routine fully, it’s clear he has the potential to be a lovely little walking buddy with a bit of gentle encouragement and consistency.
Cooper would thrive in a calm, loving home with a resident dog, where he can continue to build his confidence and share his sweet, quirky personality. He’s the perfect blend of independent and affectionate, curious and cautious, silly and sincere. For someone with patience, love, and the desire for a devoted little companion, Cooper has so much to give – and a heart ready to call somewhere home.
Cooper is not tested with cats.
