About Chip Douglas
Meet Chip Douglas – our distinguished little gentleman ready to be your new bestie.
Lover of food, destroyer of squeaky toys, and proud certified pat goblin, Chip is an 8kg Parsons Jack Russell Terrier on a mission to find his forever home.
Before coming into care, Chip spent most of his life in a backyard—many of those years tethered—which means indoor life is still a new experience for him. But don’t let that fool you: this brave little terrier is learning quickly and already becoming accustomed to the finer things in life.
Chip would thrive in a calm, stable home with patient humans who can gently show him that the world is a safe and exciting place. While he can be a little uncertain with new things—like being picked up—he adores people and melts into tummy rubs and head scratches once he knows he’s safe. And when you’ve earned his trust? He becomes a full-blown lap dog who’ll happily snooze beside you for hours.
He’s happy to chill at home while you work and isn’t needy, but he’s always thrilled to see you when you walk through the door.
Due to past negative experiences with kids, Chip is looking for a child-free home. He gets along with other dogs—he’s currently living with a big staffy friend—but would be equally happy doing his own thing as the only pup in the house. He hasn’t been tested with cats.
True to his terrier nature, Chip is a big fan of squeaky toys and is always up for a play session. He’s new to walking on a lead but is eager to explore and is making great strides with encouragement and praise. Toilet training is also a work in progress—he’s improving every day but still learning that we don't mark inside, and will need continued patience and guidance in his new home.
He does have a history of escaping prior to rescue so will need secure fencing. However, we have found now that he's got a comfy home he hasn't seemed interested in leaving!
Chip’s dream home has:
- No children
- A secure yard to potter and play in
- Patient, loving humans
- Optional: a calm dog companion
- No cats (untested)
Located in Preston with his adoring foster family, Chip is desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated—and he's ready to take on the next chapter of his life with a family who will give him all the love he’s missed out on. If you’re looking for a loyal, quirky, and deeply rewarding companion, Chip might just be your guy!

Adoption details
When someone contacts us to apply for an animal we will send an application form to be completed. When we receive a completed application form we will share this with the foster carer to approve the applicant.
We will then organise a meet & greet with the applicant and the foster carer to meet the animal, learn about their routine, behaviours and what they eat, drink, etc.
After the meet & greet the applicant is contacted to see if they want to proceed with the application and the foster carer approves the applicant.
We will then complete paperwork, payment, and organise a time to have the animal picked up.
Animals are then adopted on a 2 week trial, during which we stay in touch and provide support for the new adopter.
Once adopted we will send through vet records & paperwork and transfer their microchip.
We offer communication and support throughout the fostering & adoption process.
