About Bear
Meet Bear! This beautiful boy is of mixed breeds, possibly some Staghound and Mastiff? Hard to know exactly. Unfortunately Bear lost a hind leg when he fell from the back of a ute, and his leg was too badly broken to be saved. His owner couldn't afford the cost associated with his amputation surgery, so Bear came to us.
While he may be missing a leg, Bear is certainly not missing heart! He's a gentle, loving boy looking for a special family to call his own. He's such an easy care, sweet-natured pup who thrives on affection and companionship. He has a gentle temperament, making him an ideal companion for families with children. As well as a people-lover, Bear gets along wonderfully with other dogs too!
Bear has an adorable habit of "talking" when he wants your attention. His foster family finds his little noises endearingly sweet! Despite his playful spirit, he's very well-behaved and mature for his age. He doesn't let his missing leg get in the way of enjoying life, but he may need help with stairs or getting into cars occasionally. Bear is a typical active young dog and regular light exercise will keep him healthy, but he may need to build up his fitness level initially. Bear is toilet trained and loves to sleep on his carer's bed if allowed! He sleeps quietly all night.
Bear has a huge heart and we can't wait to find this lad a loving family to make him the centre of their home. He is quite a big pup and although we don't know his breed mix, he is likely to grow into a medium-large dog.

Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption.
