About Barley
Meet Barley: The Bearded Beauty Ready to Steal Your Heart.
Our Easter Monday rescue mission delivered a very special gift this year: a delightful, chocolatey-brown bundle of joy named Barley.
This beauty is currently chilling in her foster home at Woodend in Queensland dreaming of her forever person and a lifetime of cuddles.
At approximately eight months old, this unique girl is a delightful mix of wolfhound and maybe a dash of Staffy spice!
She's got a goofy, lovable boof head finished off perfectly with a truly endearing, and frankly, quite fabulous, beard. We're calling it her "bearded lady" look, and trust us, it's a showstopper.
Her fur is that lovely wolfy type, but she's not enormous. She's a good, medium-sized girl – perfect for snuggling on the couch.
And speaking of looks, get ready to be dazzled. Barley rocks a Staffy and Wolfhound smile combo that could melt even the iciest of hearts. And those eyes ! Simply stunning.
But Barley is more than just a pretty face. She's super friendly, super happy, and just loves being with her humans.
Now, here's a twist: Barley has a HUGE soft spot for men! Yes, you heard that right. Her foster dad is currently her favorite person. So, all you guys out there worried that rescue dogs only love the ladies, Barley is here to prove you wrong. Get ready for some serious male bonding.
Barley is an adventure enthusiast too. She adores car rides (road trip, anyone?), loves her walks (she's currently enjoying two a day), and is astonishingly well-behaved.
She gets along well with other dogs but hasn’t been properly introduced to cats, so interactions will need to be managed carefully to ensure everyone's safety.
Now, confession time: Barley loves her food. Maybe a little too much at her foster home (yes we're talking to you Dave 🤣) so her new family might need to be a little "cruel to be kind" and help her maintain a healthy figure.
Did you know? Wolfhounds are known for their gentle giants, and their affectionate nature. Staffies are loyal, intelligent and playful companions. A wolfhound-staffy mix often results in a loving, intelligent and active friend
All of Barley's vet work is complete (vaccinations, microchipping, worming etc...), except for her desexing, which was delayed last week but is scheduled for this coming week.
If you think you could share the life with this special girl, Barley's waiting for you.
Her adoption fee is $595.
If you are interested in meeting Barley, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life you could share together. We want to find her the absolute perfect forever home.
