About Olive
Re-Introducing Olive (previously Linda)!
Olive is a Kelpie x Mastiff born 20th September 2024.
Unfortunately our sweet girl has been returned to us after being adopted a week ago. Sadly her fur brother didn't want a permanent friend at home, so she is once again looking for her forever home.
Olive made incredible progress in that one short week and her surrender profile states; she is now house trained & crate trained, she travels well in the car, has no food aggression or separation anxiety. Olive is good with children & adult strangers and she LOVES playing with other dogs. She's incredibly smart & was eager to learn everything she could. She is a very playful girl who would suit an active family. She's a very warm hearted dog. Olive seems sensitive to a lot of loud car noises, so she may not be comfortable living in a busy city.
I have attached Olive's (AKA Linda's) previous notes on her behaviour at the facility;
Since being at the facility Linda has been a beautiful girl to care for. She's incredibly sweet & affectionate, however she can be a little timid when meeting new people. While she can be timid, it doesn't take her long to warm up to you (especially if you have treats) and she soon becomes a little snuggle bug. We don't believe she's had much lead training, so she will need an owner who is willing to continue working on her confidence while on lead.
Linda tested well with other dogs, including a large male dog & she was very excited and playful with him. We believe Linda would be suitable to live with other dogs, or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have another dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Linda tested well with cats and we believe she would be suitable to live in a home with them if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
While Linda was scared of our rooster, she growled & barked at him. While in time, she could be trained to live comfortably around pocket pets, we are recommending a home without them until she has undergone this training.
She still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Olive will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Linda has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.
Olive's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing & lifetime registration.
Olive is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
