Say hello to Scruffles, a young male terrier mix with a heart full of love and a nose for fun! This charming boy is a social butterfly who’s never met a human or dog he didn’t want to be best friends with. Whether it’s snuggling in your lap or making new friends at the park, Scruffles is always up for connection and cuddles.

But don’t let his love of lap time fool you – Scruffles is no couch potato! This bright, busy boy thrives on activity and mental stimulation. He’s happiest when he has a job to do or a new place to explore. Fetch, hiking, café outings, and even scent work or agility training? Scruffles is all in! With his sharp mind and eager spirit, he’d make an ideal partner for anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a dog who’s always ready for the next adventure.

At night, Scruffles loves to curl up in bed with his human and his foster dog sister – it’s his favorite way to wind down after a big day. While he’d be thrilled to continue this bedtime routine, Scruffles is an adaptable guy and will adjust to different sleeping arrangements with a little time and encouragement.

On leash, Scruffles is generally easy to handle, though he’s still mastering the art of walking in a straight line, zigzagging his way through life is just part of his charm. He’s learning that not every dog wants to stop and say hi (even if he really, really wants to), and he’ll need a bit of help refining his social etiquette.

As a terrier mix, Scruffles has a strong prey drive and finds it very hard to resist chasing cats and possums. This trait does require some management, but the good news, Scruffles is a quick study and eager to please.

Scruffles dream home would include a secure garden where he can sunbathe and sniff to his heart’s content, a playful doggy sibling to romp around with, and humans who are home more often than not.
