Introducing Miss Poppy
Breed: A delightful mystery! Possibly part working dog, part whippet, part Staffy, and 100% certified good girl.
Age: Young enough to still believe the vacuum is a monster, old enough to know where the treats are hidden.
Size: Medium-ish, but her personality is extra large.
About Miss Poppy:
Poppy is a happy, affectionate, and playful pup who responds to her name, a sharp whistle, and the sound of a snack packet opening.
She’s got the heart of an adventurer and the legs of a sprinter — chasing her fur foster sibling around the yard like she’s training for the Doglympics.
When she’s not zooming, she’s snuggling.
Miss Poppy is convinced she’s a lap dog, even if your lap is already occupied by a laptop, a book, or another dog.
She’s a cuddle connoisseur and will happily lounge with her humans like she’s the queen of the couch (because she is).
Skills & Talents:
• Sit, shake, and “no” (though she prefers “yes”)
• Ball chasing and retrieval (with dramatic flair)
• Walking like a pro on her lead
• Car rides without karaoke (unless you count barking at passing cyclists)
• Highly intelligent! (she will wrap you around her little paw)
Ideal Home:
Poppy would thrive with an active family, especially one with teens and an energy matched dog who is ready to embrace her puppy-powered playfulness. Although she would also be suited to a devoted human who is looking for a new best friend. She's house-trained, smart, and eager to learn - just add love, snacks and positive reinforcement.
Current Living Situation:
She’s living her best foster life with dogs, cats, sheep and horses, and she enjoys her play time as much as she enjoys her down time. During her time in foster care she has been learning how to respect her siblings' space and social cues, as well as hanging out in the paddock with the horses and swimming in the dam. She absolutely adores adventures to the beach or through the bush and would make the best adventure buddy.
Needs:
• A loving human who can help her build confidence
• A home where she’s allowed inside (especially on the couch — non-negotiable)
• A family that includes her in adventures and activities
• Force-free, positive training (she’s a sensitive soul, not a drill sergeant)
Fun Fact:
Poppy believes every person she meets is a potential best friend.
If you’re ready for a life filled with zoomies, snuggles, and unconditional love, Miss Poppy is your girl. Adopt her and prepare to be adored.
Please send us an informative email to sasrescue@gmail.com to tell us about your lifestyle, etc. and your current pet (if there is one) so we can see if you and Poppy are a good match.
