About Salem
How would you like to have your own 'house panther'? One that purrs, rolls over, jumps in your lap and is very switched on to his human? That's Salem. His jet black coat is smooth and shiny which goes nicely with his long, sleek body. He's very healthy and he'll be your buddy for many, many years. Salem hasn't reached his adult years as yet which means:- his current weight of 4.1 kgs will definitely increase to a big boy size. Next, he's a young male cat who is very playful and energetic and he may engage in rough play. Suggestions for his care:-
DIET/CARE. A diet of high-quality dry biscuits, daily servings of wet food and fresh, cool water is perfect. Regular visits to vet are important. A temporary launch area, where Salem can feel secure, will be beneficial.
FRIENDS. Most young cats are very easy-going and we see Salem living with cat-savvy, gentle teenage children, another cat or perhaps a dog, if Salem is helped with his intro.
AN INSIDE LIFESTYLE. Salem doesn't have to be outdoors to have fun (it's dangerous out there). He can have an exciting, inside lifestyle with the addition of a couple of large cat scratchers. Wand toys, warm beds and cardboard boxes are also great for fun.
Adoption details
When you find an animal that you think you may want to meet, please send us an email through pet rescue and one of our staff will get back to you as soon as we can.
If you live in the Rockhampton area, we encourage you to meet with any animal that captures your heart.
However, if you live too far away we can arrange a phone call from one of our foster carers, who can provide you with the best information on our animals.
Once you have chosen to adopt (or the animal has chosen you) one of our adoption counselors will process the adoption and your new family member will be ready to take home.
