About Sally
Say hello to Sally, our breathtakingly beautiful 12-month-old Great Dane mix with a heart as soft as her floppy ears. This bigger girl has a presence that turns heads, but it's her gentle, affectionate spirit that truly steals hearts.
Sally is the kind of dog who doesn't just want love - she craves connection. Once she trusts you, she'll quietly melt into your arms and look to you for comfort as she continues to explore the big, sometimes-scary world. With a demeanor as smooth as butter, Sally is calm, loyal, and deeply sensitive - a truly special soul.
Her past is a mystery, but it's clear that Sally has known neglect. That makes her a true rescue in every sense. She's learning the world isn't such a bad place after all, and she's looking for someone who can be her safe place as she gains confidence at her own pace.
🏡 Sally's Ideal Home
Sally will thrive in a quiet, stable home with gentle routines and older teenage children (16+) who understand the needs of a sensitive dog. She is best suited to a calm environment without young kids or lots of noise and activity.
She may benefit from living with a calm, confident dog, but she would also do wonderfully as an only dog in a home where she can soak up all the love and attention.
Whether you're an experienced dog owner or someone willing to learn, Sally's new family must be ready to give her the time, patience, and empathy she deserves as she adjusts to her new life.
To ensure Sally's transition is a success, her adoption includes ongoing support and training with behavioral support through Petcademy, tailored to her individual needs as well as ongoing support from BARC (Bendigo Animal Relief Centre) -
You won't be in this alone, with guidance on building trust, confidence, and creating a peaceful environment that lets her shine.
Available for adoption to loving homes state-wide - regardless of your location.
Foster opportunities available for Bendigo residents only, with full support from the BARC team.
Sally is ready to start the next chapter of her life with someone who sees how special she truly is. If you're looking for a quiet, loyal companion who just needs a gentle hand and a kind heart, Sally may be the perfect fit.
Will you be the one to show Sally what love really feels like? 💛

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
