Jeff (Was Jet)

Meet Jet, a sweet and affectionate little dog in need of a new loving home. Jet is a Jack Russell x Kelpie x Chihuahua mix with a big heart packed into a small body. Sadly, due to changes in their schedule, his owners are no longer able to give him the time and attention he needs and deserves.
Jet is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and incredibly loving. He’s the ultimate lap dog who enjoys nothing more than snuggling on the couch or curling up next to you in bed. He’s low-maintenance and generally quiet, only barking to let you know when someone’s at the door. Jet gets along beautifully with other dogs and lives harmoniously with three cats, often cuddling up with them or engaging in gentle play. He's used to a busy, lively household and currently lives with older children, aged 11 and 14. While he's great with them, he can get anxious around small children and may give a warning snap if startled—though he's never bitten anyone.
Jet loves being indoors and close to his humans, though he always has access to the yard. He enjoys walks, though he can be a bit eager on the leash and may benefit from a little training in that area. He’s not overly energetic and doesn’t require daily exercise to stay content. One challenge is his ongoing toilet training issues—he toilets inside on carpeted areas, especially when it’s cold or raining, or when he's feeling a bit neglected. We believe this is linked to seeking attention as his owners became increasingly busy, but SAFE will rule out any medical reasons.
Jet would thrive in a calm, loving home where someone is around most of the day. He’s ideally suited to retirees, someone working from home, or a family with older children who can shower him with affection.
