About Sadie

Beautiful Sadie is 7 months old and is a long stock coat German Shepherd with the cutest, floppy ear! Sadie didn’t have a very good start to her life, confined to her yard with little human contact and exposure, she escaped at 5 months old with her sister and 2 other dogs off the property. Sadie has now been in foster care for the past 5 weeks, she is ready to continue building her confidence in a forever home!
Sadie is very shy with new people; she is nervous and will run away when she is unsure. Sadie slowly comes out of her shell, once she trusts you, she is the most affectionate little pup that loves giving kisses. Despite his best efforts to win her trust, Sadie is still very unsure about being touched by her foster dad, she will follow him everywhere, sniffs him and will take treats, but a pat is just not something she is ready for yet. Sadie warms up much more quickly with women, the main handler will need to be a female, and if there are men in the house, they will need to accept it could be weeks or even months for Sadie to feel completely comfortable.
Sadie would be best in a home without small children, sudden movements and loud noises startle her, she needs to be given space and time to come out of her shell and grow in confidence on her own terms.
Sadie LOVES other dogs; she gains so much confidence being around them and will instantly make friends with any dog she meets. Sadie must have a doggy brother in her home that is confident, friendly and ready to have a playful little sister. Sadie enjoys playing rough; however, she is quite submissive with other dogs and adjusts her play to different situations. Sadie will often be found snuggling up to her foster brothers and doesn’t have any concept of personal space, she likes to share everything and is the typical annoying little sister.
Sadie has not been tested with cats, we feel that she would be fine with a confident cat that tells her off, she is a good girl that listens when you tell her no. Sadie likes chasing magpies, so if a cat runs, she will likely chase them for fun.
Sadie is a clever girl that is extremely food motivated, she is learning her basic commands and is now toilet trained, and crate trained. Sadie will need ongoing training, she is just a baby and at times needs reminding of her manners, she would do well in a group obedience setting to help with her exposure and socialisation.
Sadie has learned how to walk on a lead, however, can still be a little nervous of this at times, having a doggy brother to follow, treats, and someone very patient who will use positive reinforcement to encourage her forward will see her confident walking in no time! Sadie will need someone committed to her ongoing exposure to the outside world. Right now, Sadie is unsure, but is not reactive, she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Sadie needs to have positive experiences and gentle socialisation to ensure she grows into a confident adult dog.
Sadie is a typical puppy that is entering her teenage years, she will need exercise and above all else, mental enrichment to keep her out of mischief. Sadie loves food puzzles and working for treats, however no matter how tired she is, she still gets after dinner zoomies every night without fail. Sadie settles well inside and is generally a good girl, however she has been known to steal a sock or two.
Sadie is a playful and goofy girl that often resembles a baby giraffe, her long legs going in opposite directions of one another, she still has plenty of growing and learning left to do. This beautiful baby will make anyone extremely happy, she is just the sweetest pup who is ready to give and receive an endless amount of love.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
