About Maisie
Maisie, or Mais, is a quirky girl who loves adventures, especially when they involve a car ride! Her perfect day would start with a car trip to a nature reserve with lots of open space for her to sniff and explore, followed by a snooze in the sun.
Maisie is an active girl who loves her walks and play time. She is very well mannered and calm on the lead and enjoys a long walk. Maisie also LOVES to play with a ball and can play fetch for a good 15 minutes non stop.
She's been labelled an introverted explorer by her foster carer because she loves going out an exploring but prefers not to be pet by strangers or to be in a small space with lots of people. Maisie is initially shy around new people but does warm up with time as she becomes more familiar.
While Maisie doesn't need to be included in everything you're doing, she does like to be close enough to have one eye on you at all times. Maisie prefers to be near you but does like her own space and isn't a huge snuggler.
Maisie prefers company and would suit a family who are home more than not, either WFH or part time work. Her ideal family would also be explorers who can take her on adventures and give her two 30-45min walks a day. Maisie would benefit from a confident and experienced family who can show her patience and will understand her needs. Maisie is cautious of some dogs and will need a family who can introduce her to other dogs safely.

STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:

If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $375.00 and must be paid before the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support!
