About Skye - 7 Year Old Pug
Skye is a 7 year old female Pug who is on the lookout for her forever person.
Skye is a sweet well socialised girl who is just looking for her new best friend. Before coming into care Skye was an outside dog, and her foster carer would love to find her a home where she is integrated into the family.
Skye has had BOAS surgery and has recovered well and is now ready to find her forever home. While her surgery has greatly improved her quality of life and she can now enjoy all things dogs love, we are looking for a home that has air-conditioning as she does still struggle in the heat. We are also looking for a home without stairs or with only a couple of stairs.
Skye is well socialised with people, kids and other dogs. She can be a bit mouthy in her play, which is are looking for a home without any kids under 5. Skye hasn’t been cat tested while in care.
Skye loves going for a walk and will walk in front, but does walk well on the lead.
In her new home, Skye needs to be welcome inside all the time, even when you out. She will behave when she is left alone and you will usually find her snuggled up with her foster sister. Our preference is that her new home would have small another dog to keep her company while you are out, but she would do fine as a solo dog, provided you are home more often than not. She loves nothing more than to be with you and will follow you all around the house, sit with you while you work from home and snuggle with you on the couch at the end of the day.
Skye is progressing well with her toilet training, but does need to be reminded to go outside, otherwise will do accidents inside. If you are out she will generally hold until you are home and take her out. She is very food motivated, which helps with training. While in foster care Skye has been on a diet including home cooked meals and Lyka, ideally this or similar would continue. Skye cannot eat dry food as she will regurgitate it back up.
Skye is currently in foster care near Newcastle, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate. Adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
