About Poppy
Poppy's new home requires the following:
- A male desexed dog not puppy or senior.
- A securely fenced yard.
- No children under 12 years old
- Continued training to help her become the best mannered family dog.
- To have the option of being inside with her family when they are home and to sleep inside of a night.
Poppy is very happy to meet new people, she loves coming to school pick up and getting pats from all the kids. We are currently teaching her not to jump all over people, she is doing well, but sometimes just gets too excited. This unfortunately means she would be best in a home with no children or children over 12. Her favourite treats are apple and watermelon and she just loves all toys that make noise
Poppy is a bit of a nervous traveller in the car, she is getting better, she no longer screams for the whole car ride she will need continued exposure to car travel to help her feel safe.
Poppy has gained a lot of confidence with going for walks, she still gets the lead tangled every now and then, but is now walking in front with minimal pulling. Her recall is also improving, as with all pups she will need continued training with lead walking, sitting on command and manners. We’re still working on toilet training, but she is doing much better and has learnt to wake me up at night when she needs to go out and most of the time will take herself outside or wait by the door to be let out.
Poppy sleeps either on the end of the bed or on the little dog bed, she has chosen a small fluffy dog bed from our selection.
Poppy gets along well with other dogs, but prefers slow supervised introductions.
(The other animals in the house are fish, hermit crabs and birds- so far, she hasn’t really shown any interest in them)

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
