Medical notes
Angus is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated.
All high risk cats are FIV tested and Angus has returned a positive result.
What does this mean? Angus has a condition that affects his immune system.
Can he live a long and healthy life? Yes. In the right conditions. Angus has been given a clean bill of health by our vet. As long as he is kept inside the risks to illness are significantly reduced.
And he can’t have any other cat friends? No. if an owner wants to get the vaccine for their FIV free cat they can complete the course of three vaccinations - and the rescue can help access this at a reasonable price. Once this is done they need to maintain an annual FIV vaccine to prevent spread. However Angus could live with another FIV positive cat.
He also has some hair loss on his back which was from a flea infestation. He has been treated effectively and his fur is growing back.
