About Willow
Hi! I’m Willow and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR WILLOW
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/GzVes1CiqTt78xX47
NOTE: You are unable to meet Willow until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Willow in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction
• It is highly recommended that I go to a home with another dog although I would be okay being an only dog if I have an experienced shepard owner who is willing to put in the time and effort that training/ exercise/ enrichment requires.
• I seem to be great with dogs but after being with them for a little bit I can get abit bossy I will need another dog who will stand its ground and not let me bully them while im being socialised and learning how to behave.
• I am a young dog, so I will behave like a puppy, I am nippy and bouncy when excited. Please don't apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• SOCIALISATION is as important to me. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I grow into a social and well adjusted dog.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older
• A home with no cats. I find them fun to chase
• I am nippy, mouthy and bouncy. A home with no young children would be best due to my size. Older children would be ok, especially to help with training
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated (I would need to be fed separate to another dog)
• I can sit
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch and a game of tug-o-war
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet other than how to sit.
• I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I can be mouthy and bouncy -training should stop this
• I've only just learnt to walk on the lead since being at the shelter so I'm still a bit erratic but lots of walks will help me learn how to be great on the lead
• I havn’t had much socialisation with other dogs so I will need regular positive interactions with other dogs especially while im still young enough to learn manners.
