About Socks – 1 Year Old Dachshund
Meet Handsome Socks, 1 year old male black and tan long haired mini Dachshund weighing 6kg who is looking for his forever home and his happy ever after.
Socks is a loyal and loving boy who thrives in the company of people. His ideal home is with someone who is home more often than they are not, as he loves human company. Socks is toilet trained and sleeps through the night at the end of his foster carer’s bed.
Socks is a timid gentleman, he likes to play with his toys and go for short walks, he is slowly gaining confidence in unfamiliar places and will need calm and patient owners who will continue his socialisation experiences in positive ways.
Socks is suited to families who have children over 10 years old. He is a friendly dog and has been enjoying his time with his foster brother and sister dachshunds. Living with another dog would be ideal for Socks.
A typical Dachshund, Socks is timid when he first meets new people and takes some time to warm. He is especially timid around males and it will take some love, time, and patience to gain his trust, but when you have it, his love is never ending. Dachshund experience would be beneficial.
Socks loves to bask in the sunshine and play in the yard but prefers to spend most of his time inside following his humans around and cuddling every chance he gets. He really does give the best doggy cuddles.

Socks is in foster care in Wallsend, Newcastle NSW. Socks is available for adoption to NSW and ACT, no flights. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for ticks, fleas and worms. His adoption fee is $1100.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal
cheques.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
