About Jethro
Meet Jethro – The Shy Sweetheart with a Secret Purr Engine
Jethro is what you’d call a hidden treasure. He’s been in foster care for over four months now, quietly waiting for someone special to notice him – like a little introvert at a party, hoping someone kind will come say hello (but maybe not too loudly).
This handsome boy is incredibly gentle and shy, especially when meeting new people. Sudden noises or unexpected visitors? He’ll vanish like a furry magician. But here’s the twist – if you’re patient and kind, Jethro will reward you with something better than magic: his trust. And once he trusts you, you'll discover the softest, sweetest little cat who purrs like a tiny engine, especially at bedtime.
Jethro isn’t your typical lap cat… but after four months of hard work (mostly on his foster carer’s part), he now sometimes chooses to settle on their lap – which is a pretty big deal for this cautious little guy. He loves a good bedtime cuddle and will happily snooze next to you (or even sneak under the doona) with his brother Jasper.
By day, Jethro is part shadow, part ninja. By night, he’s a playful kitten at heart – chasing his brother, rocketing around the house with zoomies, and engaging in fierce battles with his arch-nemesis: the red laser dot. (Spoiler alert: the dot always wins, but don’t tell him that.)
What Jethro needs is a calm, patient home where he won’t be chased or overwhelmed. While he’d probably cope with gentle, cat-savvy children who understand his shy ways, he’ll do best in a quiet household where he can come out of his shell at his own pace.
Jethro isn’t looking for a fast friendship – he’s looking for a forever bond. Earn his trust, and you’ll gain a quiet, loyal little companion who’ll melt your heart in the most unexpected moments.
So if you believe in giving shy cats a chance, Jethro just might be your purrfect match.
