About 🍹Julep & Gimlet🍹
Gimlet and Julep arrived a little feisty but have spent the last month evolving from spicy toddlers to well-adjusted tweens who are just full of joy and happiness. When they first arrived, Gimlet (tabby) was the fierce protector, and Julep (tortie) was happy to stick close behind her sister.
Once they were settled in and allowed to explore their room (and eventually the entire flat), it became pretty clear that Julep was the adventurous one – happy to throw herself head first into any new environment. Gimlet however will watch her sister, and then follow her lead once any new terrain is well tested.
Julep and Gimlet are an absolute joy to watch together, they are the epitome of a bonded pair. Their relationship has a wonderful dynamic, equal parts companionship and independence. Together and separately they: parkour, play, wrestle, eat, sleep. Both girls have good social cues with other cats; they learned quickly how to navigate the two resident grownup cats, including giving the cranky one plenty of space (and without running scared). Julep has developed a connection with the nicer one, and enjoys sleeping next to her in the evening. Gimlet has learned how cosy a human lap can be.
Julep is the one filled with most confidence, emerging pretty quickly to hang out with visitors. Gimlet is shier but is just as sweet and playful once she is settled. These two would make a perfect pair for many households as long as they are safe and sound inside.
These girls are super special and will be truly missed by their foster human and cats (even if the grumpy one won’t admit it). They are looking for a home of their own (together), or equally to add a little manageable newbie chaos to another cat/s. They’ve not met dogs while in care but would be fine with a proven cat-friendly pupper with slow introductions. Both girls are desexed, microchipped and up to date with their vaccinations and parasite treatments. They are in care in Melbourne CBD and taking applications from homes in Melbourne and its surrounding suburbs.
