Meet Finella,
Get ready to fall in love with this bright spark! Finella is a confident, curious, and clever little lady who’s ready to bounce her way into your heart and your home. With her cheerful personality and waggy tail, she brings a whole lot of sparkle wherever she goes.
Finella is a playful and affectionate sweetheart who loves being around people and getting involved in whatever’s going on. Whether it’s a walk, a game of fetch, or just following you around the house to see what you’re up to, she’s always ready to be part of the fun.
She would thrive in an active household - whether it’s a family, couple, or individual - especially one that’s had experience with the energetic and clever JRT breed. That said, Finella is a go-with-the-flow kind of girl and fits in easily with different home environments. She’s smart, social, and full of positive energy - and she can’t wait to meet you!
Ideal Home: Finella is suitable to live in any property type and yard size is of no concern either, just as long as the fencing is high and secure.
Family: Finella is open to meet kids of any age. She is also fine to live with people with any work schedule.
Finella is a-ok to spend time in the yard on her own without any issues but she loves being around people. So a home that allows her access inside would be ideal.
Furry Friends: Finella is dog selective. Her dog to dog wasn't bad but we became aware that she prefers dogs who are either her size or match her manners. She retreats from dogs who are too boisterous. So she would need a dog that’s closer or matches her play style.
As we cannot test in the environment, we are not sure how Finella would go living with cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners but keep in mind that being a JRT she may she signs of prey drive with smaller animals.
Training & Development: Finella would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes may also be a good option for Finella, so that she can experience playing and interacting with other dogs to boost her confidence around more playful dogs. Finella is known to be a bouncy girl, she loves to be on you & won't hesitate to jump up into your lap.
Finella is still learning her name but she knows commands such as: sit. She is food motivated too and is known to be gentle when taking treats from you - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Finella has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-60mins every other day to keep her content & healthy. Finella likes to play with toys - she likes soft toys & personal play with her handlers.
Finella walks well on a lead with minimal pulling. She is fine to be walked on either a harness or collar.
Staff Comments: Finella is engaging & happiest when around people. She seeks affection and will into your lap to get it. she's a funny girl who just loves life! She would suit any home whose ready for a vibrant and lively dog.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
