Meet Fritter,
This sweet little snack of a dog is Fritter — a gentle soul with a playful streak and a heart full of love (and maybe a little mischief too).
Fritter is looking for a calm, quiet home with experienced dog owners who understand that sensitive pups need a little extra patience and a lot of kindness. She thrives best in a peaceful environment, but don't let her mellow side fool you — Fritter loves her walks, playtime, and exploring the great outdoors with her favourite people.
She's the perfect mix of independent and affectionate — happy doing her own thing but never too far away when it’s time for belly rubs or a cuddle. Fritter is friendly, social, and has a quirky, sometimes aloof charm that makes her extra special.
If you’re an active person or family who enjoys both adventure and quiet evenings at home, Fritter might just be your perfect match.
Ideal Home: Fritter is suitable to live in a townhouse, standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Family: Fritter is open to meet kids of any age but kids should understand that she can be a little shy when first meeting you. She is fine to live with people who work part-time hours.
Fritter is fine to spend time in the yard on her own, but would thrive in a home that allows her access inside more often than not.
Furry Friends: Fritter is open to meet dogs but will need some additional training. It's clear that she likes other dogs and wants to make friends, but has moments of being unsure - additional training will help her overcome her timidity.
As we cannot test in the environment, we are not sure how Fritter would go living with cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Fritter would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes may also be a good option for Fritter, so that she can learn how to interact with other dogs and gain confidence.
Fritter is still learning her name but she knows commands such as: sit. She is food motivated too and is known to be gentle when taking treats from you - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea. She really likes devon.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Fritter has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-30mins a day to keep her content & happy. Fritter loves spending time with people and also enjoys playing with soft toys.
Fritter walks well on a lead with minimal pulling - she will often check in with you during walks, too. She is fine to be walked on either a harness, collar or martingale.
Staff Comments: Fritter is a really sweet girl who loves to be around you & wants cuddles. She's an easy going girl who would be fabulous for any family.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
