Meet Waffle,
Waffle is a sweet and quirky girl with a personality as delightful as her name. She’s gentle, curious, and has just the right mix of independence and affection. Waffle likes to take the world in at her own pace—sometimes she’s happily trotting around exploring new smells, other times she’s chilling in her own little bubble, just observing the world around her.
While she can adapt to most home environments, Waffle would thrive best in a calmer household where she can feel safe and relaxed. She’s a sensitive soul who connects deeply once she trusts you, and she’s got so much love (and silliness!) to share with her people.
She’s a great match for active individuals or families who enjoy getting outside, playing fetch, or going on weekend adventures. Waffle’s playful side shines once she’s comfortable—she’ll bounce around with excitement, and then melt into a cuddle puddle when she’s ready for downtime.
Waffle is looking for experienced dog owners who understand that sometimes, the sweetest dogs just need a little patience and understanding to bloom.
Ideal Home: Waffle is suitable to live in a townhouse, standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Family: Waffle is open to meet kids from 5 years & up -while she is usually a very chilled dog, she does have moments of playfulness which may lead to her accidently knocking smaller kids over.
Waffle is fine to spend time in the yard on her own but would prefer to be inside more often than not so that she can maximise her time with her new family. She is fine to live with people who work part-time.
Furry Friends: Waffle is open to meet other dogs. During her dog assessment Waffle was happy to interact & play but was a little unsure at the start. Waffle was understanding and respected the other dogs boundaries. She is very approachable & not too excited for other dogs. she was happy to step away and come back to play when the other dog needed some time out.
As we cannot test in the environment, we are not sure how Waffle would go living with cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Waffle would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes may also be a good option for Waffle - while she is pretty good with other dogs, group classes will help her with her initial 'unsure moments' when she first meets other dogs.
Waffle is still learning her name. She also knows commands such as: sit. She is not overly food motivated but is known to be gentle when taking treats from you - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea. High value treats would be beneficial.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Waffle has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-60mins a day to keep her satisfied. Waffle isn't too interested in toys - she prefers cuddles and to be near her handles. She thrives on attention.
Waffle walks well on a lead with minimal pulling. She is fine to be walked on either a harness or collar.
Staff Comments: Waffle is a sweet girl who is quiet & gentle. She loves cuddles & being near you. She enjoys quiet moments by your side and would be a wonderful addition to any family.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
