Ellie-May

Ellie-May is a total sweetie, who charms everyone she meets. She loves to get on your shoulder and hang out, and is learning about different fruit and veg. Ellie-May is only a young adult. Many people do not consider eclectus parrots to be good for beginners, as Ellie is likely to go through a hormonal change at 2-3 years of age. This can be challenging for owners, so some parrot experience is a bonus. Her new family will need to be prepared for Ellie-May to be part of their lives for the next 40 or so years.

Ellie is a bit of a rarity, as eclectus are not known for liking pats. Ellie-May initiates touch, and enjoys kisses and pats, even on her face, having her beak rubbed, etc. She is, by far, the friendliest female eclectus I have ever met. Like most parrots, she will likely only form this very strong bond with one person. If you choose to be this person, it is a big commitment and responsibility.

We are after the right home for Ellie, however long that takes. We're not a shop that will sell to the first person that walks in, so please be prepared for the adoption process that goes with every animal from our rescue. Ellie deserves the very best of homes.
