About Hugo
When asked to describe Hugo his foster carer declared "blindingly gorgeous, Hugo is a rock star; wherever he goes he attracts admirers and friends. He is tall, handsome, charming, and utterly irresistable". We can't argue with that, it's true, this magnetic hound will make you fall for him within moments of meeting!
Having taken to life as a well loved pet like a pro, Hugo travels well in the car, is generally confident and takes things in stride even during thunderstorms, in the face of barking dogs, and on busy streets or when loud trucks pass by. He is a stair master, understands the mysteries of glass doors, and isn't fazed by noisy household appliances.
Currently living as an only dog, Hugo happily spends a few hours on his own hanging in the living room with his toys and a treat when his foster heads out on errands. He is not tested with long hours alone (like a work day) and really enjoys the company of his people so we think he will thrive best in a home with a couple who have a hybrid working arrangement and someone can be around more often than not.
A social boy, Hugo loves to meet people out and about and has even had brief interactions with children where he was gentle and sweet. He is good with other dogs, and doesn't even mind when they approach him off lead, he gives a polite bum sniff and happily moves along. As the cliche goes, this boy loves long walks on the beach - so a home near the bay would be his dream where he can take you along to socialise as you stroll the sandy shore.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
