About Charlie
Meet Charlie: A Sweet Soul Seeking His Forever Home
💔 Charlie's journey to Village Tails began on Easter Monday, arriving on a transport from a rural NSW country pound. The heavy chain and padlock he wore around his neck spoke volumes about his past. Charlie bears the scars – both visible and unseen – of a life filled with hardship.
He’s clearly been restrained and endured some rough treatment from other dogs. While we don't know the specifics, it's clear he's been through trauma. He's understandably anxious around larger dogs. This brave boy desperately seeks love and trust and is ready to give so much in return.
Despite everything, Charlie is incredibly kind-hearted and loves nothing more than cuddles!
This approximately 18-month-old is at best guess maybe Ridgeback x Staffy mix (weighing in at 32kg) and is a total sweetheart.
He's looking for a forever home where he can be preferably be an only dog, enjoying 24/7 cuddle heaven!
While he'd prefer to be the only canine companion, he can get along with well other dogs, although he needs a gentle introduction and time to adjust.
Two weeks into his foster care in Caloundra, he's fallen head over paws for his foster home's resident German Shepherd!
It's been a journey for him to learn to relax, play, and truly have fun, but he's blossoming beautifully.
He's learning to be a puppy again!
Here are some things you should know about Charlie:
Loves walks: He's learning excellent leash manners.
Food motivated: He adores mealtimes, especially when his Kong is filled with tasty treats.
Learning basic commands: He knows "sit" and is mastering "shake."
Enjoys grooming: A good brush is a highlight of his day.
Crate trained: He happily sleeps in his crate overnight.
Vetted: Charlie is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea and worm treatments. He's also heartworm negative.
Charlie needs someone to shower him with the love he's missed, showing him that life can be good and people can be kind.
Anyone who adopts this beautiful boy will gain a loyal, loving companion.
Could that be you?
