About Barley
Barley is a super friendly and loving little dog who wants to be a true part of the family. His affectionate and cuddly nature makes him a wonderful addition to the home, and he loves to spend his evening snuggled up on the coach with his foster carers for down time. Barley has a very chill and gentle temperament, so he is a real pleasure to have around. He loves to greet everyone he meets with a smile on his face and his waggy tail. The effect of this is that Barley makes a lot of new friends and admirers wherever he goes. You can’t help but smile when he is around.
This boy’s friendliness extends to his doggy friends. He likes a little play with another similarly natured dog and also likes to cuddle up on the couch with the other dogs in his foster home. Barley is good with all sized dogs and is currently living with a greyhound and a cavoodle. When the lead comes out for walkies, there is evident happiness as he really enjoys going for his daily walk to explore the outside world. Barley is a small dog but will still need a daily walk to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life.
While in care, Barley has been a joy for his foster carers. He has basic manners and walks really well on the lead without pulling. Barley wasn’t initially toilet trained but has made very good progress and is learning the routine from the resident dogs. His new owners should be ok to guide him with a toileting routine and expect a couple of accidents as he transitions into his new home. Barley would love to be allowed to sleep on his new owner’s bed since he loves snuggling so much but could adapt to sleeping nearby. He travels very well in the car and would like to be involved in outings with his new family regularly.
We are looking for a dog savvy home for Barley where he will be a true family member and given lots of love. He will require a home with another friendly and gentle natured dog who can be a companion for him. There is no issue with Barley being left home with his doggy friends, but we will preference a home where someone is home more often than not as well as he truly gets a lot of pleasure from just being by your side. He should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need to be able to sleep inside at night as well. Barley loves people and is fine with children who have visited so he is open to a home with gentle dog savvy kids. The more people to cuddle him the better in his eyes!

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
