Banoffee (Benny) The Greyhound

Please allow me to introduce myself…

I’m Banoffee (but my friends call me Benny). Just like the pie I was named after, I’m a little rich, a little complex, and definitely worth the wait.

I’m a big, beautiful black boy looking for a calm, understanding home with kind, patient humans who are happy to take things at my pace. I’ve had a bit of a tough past, so building trust can take me some time… but once you’re in my circle, you’ll see just how special I really am.

I’m hoping to find a home with plenty of space - both inside and out. I really value having room to move away and decompress when I need to, so a house with a larger yard would be perfect for me. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to show off my impressive zoomies and spins (which, if I may say so myself, are quite spectacular).

I’d much prefer to be your one and only. Other dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I’m looking for a home where I can truly relax and be the centre of your world.

I’m a sweet, gentle guy who doesn’t always love cuddles, I’m more of a “near you, not on you” kind of companion. I absolutely love a good bum scratch, and I’ll happily hang out in the same space as you, following you around just to keep you company… but I also really appreciate my independence and my comfy bed.

My ideal humans will understand that while I love my safe people deeply, it takes time for me to get there. I need someone who sees me for who I am, respects my space, and is willing to help me learn that being loved is actually a really nice thing.

When it comes to adventures… I’m your boy. I walk extremely well on lead and absolutely love getting out and about. Beach trips, bush walks, hiking, count me in. Exploring the world with my people is something I really enjoy, and it’s a great way for me to build confidence too.

I’m also a very clever boy - I know how to sit and I do it very well (especially if there’s snacks involved… which I am always very hopeful about).

When I’m feeling comfortable, I’ve got a playful side - zoomies, spins, and joyful bursts of energy that will definitely make you smile. And of course… I’m very food motivated, which makes learning new things a lot easier (and tastier).

If you’re someone who believes in giving a dog the time, space, and patience they deserve, I promise I’ll meet you there in my own way. I might not be the cuddliest boy, but I’ll be your quiet shadow, your adventure buddy, and your gentle, loyal companion.

All hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm (including heartworm) treated. The adoption fee includes our Adopter Kit containing a martingale collar, leash, muzzle and useful information to help you get your new hound settled in.
