About Maddie
Meet Maddie! This precious girl needs a special person to bring her into their heart and home! 🧡
She is a young girl who loves playing ball, running, exploring the garden, car rides and going for a daily walk. 🚗🦮
Unfortunately, she has had four homes in her young life and with her current carer a few months. 💔
Maddie is ball obsessed and is prone to resource guarding – of toys and humans. 👮♂️
She is good on the lead and is learning to socialise with humans and dogs. AINB has engaged one of our expert trainers to work with Maddie to help her reach her full potential. 🎓
With medication her anxiety has decreased. The crate is her safe spot and her hang out when her humans are away. She is on daily anxiety medications to help her (1/2 tab Lovan). We therefore recommend a quiet home without many people coming and going. 💊
She prefers men but will tolerate women, if no other choice. We would recommend a quiet household with male presence to allow her to settle. 👨
She would suit a home where you work from home. 💻
Maddie is not a fan of grooming. We are working to get the right balance of medication to ease this process. 💇♀️
She takes time to build relationships and likes to be in charge of situations, but she responds well to treats (especially chicken jerky). Maddie needs daily structure, boundaries, consistency and lots of love and cuddles. 👌
Maddie has not been exposed to children whilst staying with her current carer and has had limited contact with other animals. We would recommend a family without children or other animals. 👍
While Maddie is a cute girl, she can also be a beast! 🥴
She will make the right person a wonderful, cuddly companion. 🥰
Medical notes
She is on daily anxiety medications to help her (1/2 tab Lovan).
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
