About Gertie
***WE'RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR FOSTER CARERS TO HELP US OUT SO IF YOU THINK YOU CAN PROVIDE A TEMPORARY HOME FOR ONE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL CATS PLEASE LET US KNOW. THE MORE CARERS WE HAVE AVAILABLE TO LEND A HAND THE MORE CATS WE CAN HELP REHOME***
This gorgeous little lady is Gertrude or ash she's affectionately know Gertirde, and she's on the lookout for her new forever home.
We found Gertie in a rather stressful environment, in a cage at a nearby shelter, and sadly she was on the list of cats due to cross the rainbow bridge in the not too distant future. Luckily we we're able to intervene and she's now living the good life with one of our amazing foster carers.
Gertie is one of the sweetest, most affectionate and most loving cats you will ever meet. She was all pats and purrs the second the she stepped out of her cat carrier and she has only become more affectionate as time has gone by.
As an older lady she's generally happy to find a comfortable spot to snooze the day away but when you're around she will be rubbing up against your legs and demanding your attention.
She loves a pat and a scratch, is happy to be picked up and cuddled, will sleep on the bed with her if you let her and makes a great TV buddy. Geretie is also great with other cats, she pays them no attention, and has a very relaxed and easy going personality.
We'd love to find Gertie a nice quiet home, with not much going on, where she can kick back, relax and enjoy her golden years. She would be the perfect fit for a retiree or a homebody who's looking for a low maintenance and affectionate companion.
Gertie is approximately 10 years old and has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and is available for adoption right meow.
If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little lady with a great life please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with her.
Located in Ballarat with our amazing foster carers.

A little about us:
Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rescue service, run by one passionate individual with the help of friends and volunteers, that is dedicated to keeping cats out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them.
Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with government resources, a large facility and a lot of staff. Our tiny rescue is a one man operation run from the safety of our own home. We do this for the love of animals and our only agenda is to save as many cats as we can. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive. Every cent we receive from donations and adoption fees is used to keep our rescue running and cover the cost of food, water, litter, equipment and vet bills for the animals in our care.
We are doing as much as we can right now but our dream is to one day be able to purchase a larger property or facility that would allow us to be able to save the lives of many more cats in need. Perhaps even open a cat cafe so that we can spread our message to a wider audience.
We have recently created a Go Fund Me towards this end so if you would like to donate towards our cause please follow the below link.
