About Buddy
Introducing Buddy!
Buddy is a Cattle x born 24th August 2024.
Buddy was brought in to us as a stray, however his microchip details were out of date & unfortunately no one came looking for him. When Buddy was first brought in he was quite reserved and nervous with new people. While we have all gained his trust, he can still be a little shy at times.
Since being at the facility Buddy has been an absolute delight. While he loves playing with toys (of all kinds), he's also a very affectionate and sweet young man. When trying to get his attention, he responds well to a whistle and he happily trots back to you. Buddy loves a cuddle and isn't afraid to climb onto your lap to get your attention.
Buddy has tested well with other dogs at the facility and he's incredibly playful with them. He has been tested with large & small dogs and he gets along beautifully with both. We believe Buddy would be suitable to live with another dog, or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have another dog/s we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Buddy tested quite well with cats.. and by quite well we mean he immediately got his hackles up and ran away as quickly as he could. We feel that he could be suitable to live with cats, if given a slow & controlled introduction to them, however if the cat is very confident around dogs (and isn't afraid to slap them into line) they might be a bit too daunting for him to handle.
While Buddy didn't show any aggression towards our rooster, he was a little too interested in trying to play with him. For this reason we are recommending a home with no pocket pets, or with caged pocket pets only.
Buddy's only fault that we've seen is when he gets excited he does jump up and occasionally nips the air. Given his breed and young age this is to be expected, however he will need an owner who will continue his manners training.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Buddy will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Buddy has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.
Buddy's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration.
Buddy is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
