About Doug
Introducing the mighty Doug!
Doug was surrendered into our care over a month ago through no fault of his own, and is finally ready to find his forever family! Doug is well socialised with both people and dogs and would be suitable to go home with young children and other dogs!
Doug spent much-needed time away from the shelter in a foster home where they said Doug was very independent, relaxed and settled very quickly in their home. Here's what else they had to say about him,
Doug has been absolute pleasure to foster. He is extremely calm and relaxed. He hasn't barked or growled once. He's been taken to the dog park multiple times and has no negative interactions.
He's friendly with all animals and people he has encountered, including lots of small children. He's toilet trained and will only pee/poo outside or while he's on a walk. He eats his food but doesn't beg. He's a sleepy boy and spends a lot of time relaxing around the house. Once he is trained and develops a recall, he would do super well off-leash in dog parks.
Much like other dogs Doug does struggle with loud noises, such as fireworks and sirens, however our lovely team here at the adoption centre can discuss with you ways to make him less fearful.
If Doug sounds like the man for you, come on down to North Melbourne and meet him today.
