About Zip
Zip is ready to zip into her new home!
This beautiful girl is absolutely adorable both inside and out. She has a cuddly personality and really loves people. Zip is happy to make new friends with anyone that she meets and will take all the pats on offer. Her favourite thing to do is snuggle up in your lap or be smooshed in besides you on the couch. Zip is a curious girl who loves to explore the yard and new places. She also loves to play with her toys and is easy to please as an old scrubbing brush seems to be the winner with her!
Zip is an extremely lucky girl as we rescued her from a rural NSW pound. She has come along in leaps and bounds in foster care and is really blossoming. Zip is social with other dogs and loves to make new doggie friends. She will play with anyone who will play with her. It would be ideal that her new owner has a network of family/friends with other suitable doggie playmates for her to socialise with and go on walks with. We expect Zip to grow to a larger medium size (22-25kg at a guess) and to have moderate energy levels. She will need a substantial daily walk and mental stimulation to keep her healthy and happy throughout her life.
Zip’s foster carers have given her training a great kick start. She is food motivated and happy to work to earn her treats. Zip is now used to walking on the lead, sits on command and is now learning stay. Being a pup, she is still does some typical puppy jumping and mouthy when over excited and still has lots more to learn. Her new owner will need to be committed to continuing her training to ensure she grows up to be a wonderful adult canine citizen. Zip is crate trained and has almost nailed her toilet training. She travels well in the car and would love a life where she is included in outings and adventures.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Zip where she is a loved member of the family. She would be a great match with an adult dog who is still happy to have a bit of a game with her but who is already fully trained up and ready to be a great role model for her. Otherwise, she can live as an only dog, but her new owners will need to continue to slowly build her up to staying home alone and she would love her humans to be around more often than not for companionship. Zip currently is fine to stay home for a couple of hours here and there in her foster home but has not been left for long periods yet. She will need to be allowed inside to be a part of the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
Zip is currently living with a dog savvy 4yo child, and you can often find pup and child curled up on the lounge together in the evenings. When Zip gets the zoomies she might accidently knock over little ones so supervision is key and any children in the household should be confident with medium/large dogs and typical puppy behaviour. Zip is untested with other types of pets but is young enough to learn to live harmoniously with others given the right training and guidance. This pup is a beauty and will be a wonderful and social addition to her new home.
If you would like to make this pretty girl a part of your life, then please complete the Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
