About Luxe

Luxe was born in our care.
She was the only one of her litter to survive.
Her mum was brought in as part of a colony trapping mission; Luxe was born a few days later. Her mum, Papaya, was so sick and shut down that she did not tend to the kittens after their birth. Two of them were never broken out of their birthing sacks and likely suffocated. The other passed away a few days later, despite having a surrogate mum and round-the-clock care from the foster carers.
Luxe was the only kitten of four to make it.
She fought so hard to live.
She overcame all of the odds.
And now no one wants her.
She is being overlooked again and again because she is 'too old' and 'no longer a cute kitten', so people don't think she is deserving of love.
Why won't anyone give her a chance?
We are offering a heavily discounted adoption fee for Luxe because she deserves a happily ever after.
Please understand how much it hurts the rescue to do this. It costs us about $225 per cat for basic vet work (desex, microchip, 1st vax). We have spent well over $1000 on Luxe in the months she has been with us. But money doesn't matter. Her life matters. (Losing money means we can't help as many cats, of course, but we need to prioritise the ones like Luxe already in our care.)
Luxe is a gorgeous little girl with so, so much love to give.
She adores people. She is cuddly and purry and smoochy and playful- she truly is the perfect kitten.
Our favourite feature of Luxe's is her single little brown toe. It's very silly and unique, just like her!
Luxe got along beautifully with her feline foster siblings until she was moved into a foster home. She has since gotten a little crabby toward other cats, but we think she will settle in with them again if given a proper introduction. She would be very happy as an only cat, or even in a home with a gentle pup.
Please give this beautiful girl a chance.
She has been through so, so much in her little life, and she deserves all of the love and comfort in the world.

Adoption details
If interested in a cat that is available for adoption, we require you to fill out an adoption application, and one of our lovely foster carers will give you a call to organise a time for a meet and greet.
Please note: As we are all volunteers with limited time up our sleeves, we prefer all interested potential adopters to fill out an application, rather than send an enquiry, as this helps us know more about you and what you are after, and saves us all a lot of time!
