They could say that this is from a friend of the foster carer - no need to give a name…

I recently had the privilege of meeting the very special Athena. For a dog who had never really been exposed to the outside world she showed a confidence that surprised me, but that confidence came from the bond that she’s developed with her foster carer who she trusts implicitly.

It was time for her first bath and whilst waiting at the doggy wash she was exposed to dogs who were quite reactive who she simply ignored. Despite it being her first bath and it being done by a complete stranger she loved it - even being blow dried afterwards.

She’s learning to walk nicely on her lead and she also naturally looks up at the person on the end of the lead and would excel at obedience.

She would suit someone who first and foremost would give her time to adjust from living with her foster carer and who initially focuses on building that bond with her and who will continue to work on her training.

She was also introduced to a cat whilst on a lead and she showed little to no interest in the cat so could be slowly introduced to one. She could also live with another (preferably male dog) but that dog would need to be able to keep up with her puppy energy which might be overwhelming for a senior.

This exceptional girl does have puppy energy and likes to do the usual puppy stuff as she’s getting used to living inside with her family. Whilst she is a working line she doesn’t have any workable drive and is definitely a pet home only with children aged 12 and over.

If I didn’t already have two dogs I would have applied to make her a member of my family as she was such a special girl.
