Meet Shelby, a charming male Toy Poodle looking for a special place to call home. With a birth date of February 27, 2020, Shelby blends youthful energy with the wisdom of a seasoned canine companion. From his cozy spot in Red Hill, Shelby is extending his paw in search of a new family who understands his unique personality and needs.
Shelby may be a "slow burn," but once he's warmed up to you, his affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. He gleefully jumps into your arms, Shelby is the “ little spoon”
His small stature is paired with a big heart and an inquisitive mind! Cat-friendly and dog-friendly, Shelby is well-suited to homes with other small animals, offering a harmonious household vibe. While he's a social butterfly with other pets, Shelby prefers the company of older, gentle children, ideally over 12 years.
Shelby is fully prepared for his new home, being desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and wormed. His safety is paramount, so a secure fenced area is important, as he is primarily an indoor dog. Shelby does better without young children in the house as he takes time to trust and bond with new humans and could become defensive.
Despite his cautious nature with new humans, Shelby has a wealth of love to give. With patience and understanding, his true loving personality emerges, and the right family will find Shelby to be a devoted, lifelong friend. If you have a calm environment and think you could be Shelby's perfect match, don't hesitate to get in touch to meet this remarkable little pup.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
