Lucee is a gorgeous little Mini Schnauzer who has come such a long way in her time with us.
She has lost over 6 kilos and is now a healthy weight

Lucee is a special girl, you just can't help but fall in love with her. Though she is blind, her other senses work overtime to help her navigate the world – and she does it with courage, and a whole lot of love. She’s always listening intently for the sounds of her humans waking up or returning home, ready to greet you with a happy tail and a warm presence.
Lucee adores people of all ages – big and small – and she places so much trust in her humans to guide her safely. Her sweet personality reveals itself more and more each day.
Lucee’s Traits:
Non-destructive and well-behaved when left alone.
Loves to “help” with housework by following you from room to room – she’s the best company!
Can be a bit cheeky and will explore small tables if there’s something interesting left behind.
A bit of a “bin chicken” – she’s curious, so bins and dishes should be kept out of reach.
Toilet trained with only the occasional accident in unfamiliar spaces.
She can be nervous in new environments, but once she gets her bearings, she settles in beautifully and starts to shine.
Lucee enjoys short walks in familiar areas and gets along well with other dogs – she’s polite, says hello, and then happily goes about her way. She can be startled by bikes, scooters, and passing cars, so calm and quiet areas are ideal for her strolls. Please be very mindful that Lucee does not walk on a lead and collar ( she's blind)
Medical
Lucee is nearly totally blind ( we think she does see shadows) has damage to her retinal nerves ( unknown reason) and we have taken her to an eye specialist but unfortunately nothing can be done and Lucees sight will never return
Lucee has had full blood run for everything and everything is good with exception to her kidneys which showed an abnormality. She was then taken to a specialist for an ultrasound and this showed the start of kidney disease . There is no need for any medication at this early point and how quickly it will progress is unknown so at this point she is on a Kidney support food as part of prevention.
Luceee is not desexed under vets advice as we felt it would be too risky to do this so she cannot be adopted to a home that have or associate with entire males under any circumstances
Lucee does have a dry nose that will require a moisture cream daily
Lucee does also travel well in the car.

Health & Diet:
Lucee is currently on a special kidney-support diet and is fed once daily. Her adopter will need to be committed to maintaining this for her continued health and comfort.

Adoption Criteria for Lucee:
A secure, safe home with a sunny spot for her to enjoy some sunbathing.
Someone who is home more often than not – Lucee thrives on companionship.
Lucee does not need a huge yard but it must be secure and have shade
A home with a doggy door is a must as she does work out how to use it
A dedicated adopter who will continue her special diet.
A patient, gentle soul who will help her learn and move confidently around her new environment.
A home that is not constantly moving furniture around or is very cluttered
A home with minimal or no stairs to make things easier for her to navigate.
