About Luca
Luca requires the following in his home:
- A home with no other dogs and his people home often, or with a calm quiet not playful desexed dog.
- Calm patient owners who will give him time to feel comfortable in new situations.
- To be allowed inside when his people are home and give opportunities for cuddles and snuggles.
- No young children or homes that are loud and have frequent loud voices.
- regular clipping every second month and weekly eye, feet and ear maintenance.
- Daily lead walks.
- would love a humans bed to sleep on or a dog bed inside at night.
- A secure yard.
This little guy is one smoochy poochy! Luca is a total gentleman and would love to be the only guy in your life. Although he does get on with other dogs, he’s just not that into them, and prefers being on his own.
Luca is learning how to play with toys and can be a bit serious on life. However once he’s relaxed, he becomes a bundle of joy! He can get flighty in new situations, but with a calm, patient owner, he overcomes his fear quickly.
He’s very smart and willing to please, and loves to hang out with you. He is respectful of your space and will wait to be asked onto the couch or your lap.
He has apparently chased cats at previous foster, but has not chased the other small dogs, goats, chickens or even indoor free range galah, he currently lives with. He has never snapped or attempted to bite, he just avoids.
He will sit and come on command, and will wait patiently for his food. He’s a very well behaved dog. He learns easily and walks well on lead. He can be a bit timid, but he’s friendly with people and will seek out a pat from anyone. He’s not been around young children, and doesn’t react well to loud voices or yelling. He has spent time with a lady who has Parkinson’s, and responded very well, always staying calm and quiet for pats.
Luca requires regular grooming. This includes at least 5 clips a year with weekly eye, ear and feet maintenance.
He was an absolute star at the vets and got thumbs up for being a great little dog. He’s very healthy, with lovely soft, curly coat and bright attentive eyes, and with regular exercise will develop more muscle tone and weight.
He’s been given Simparica TRIO dog chews monthly for fleas, ticks and worms.
He’s walked on a training slip lead (will come with him) as well as running with other dogs from a waist lead. He travels well in the car with harness seat belt and other dogs, and likes visiting new places.
He will ask to go out or does use Potty Buddy pads. He has access to a few sleeping spots and has made his way onto the human’s bed at night and loves to snuggle in. He waits patiently in the mornings to be let out and rarely barks at anything.
At night his favourite thing is to snuggle in or lay at your feet… he just loves to be loved. He has the sweetest little face and not a mean bone in his body. Could he be your perfect dog?
