Rodney, the cat friendly greyhound

Looking for a cuddly, cat-friendly greyhound? Rodney is a beautiful 4-year-old boy who is currently living with a greyhound, a greyhound x wolfhound, and two cats on the Central Coast. He loves going on walks and, at this stage, does pull, but with proper training, he can learn to walk beside you. He has met other dog breeds on our walks and has been very good at greeting them. He has also met little kids on our walks and has been polite when saying hello. Rodney doesn't seem to mind bicycles, scooters, or skateboards; however, he seems a bit interested in boats and jet skis moving in the water. He is easily distractible from them and hasn't tried to lunge.

In terms of home life, Rodney hasn't shown any signs of sleep startle. He is confident and doesn't mind floorboards. He has even mastered the stairs! Whilst he hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding with humans, he does not like sharing his food with other animals. It is therefore ideal that he has a safe space to enjoy his meals. He is also learning not to enter the kitchen and has been good in this aspect of training. However, as Rodney is a tall boy, we strongly recommend keeping food items away when you are not around.

Rodney is able to hold his bladder overnight but takes himself to the toilet around 5:30 a.m. As such, it is ideal if his home has a backyard. He is then content to stay in bed until everyone gets up. He loves car rides and sits quietly during the drive.

Rodney is such a lovely boy and deserves the best of homes. We love his cuddles and gentle personality. He does have his playful moments too, which just add to his endearing personality.
