About Sophie
Sophie is a outgoing, clever, affectionate girl. She loves attention from people, cuddles, games (her favourite is chasing down toys), running around, walks, puzzles and challenges, chewy treats and bones, training, car trips, and anything that keeps her mind and body active! She naps here and there throughout the day, but otherwise she wants to know what everyone is up to. You may unexpectedly find a shoe or sock placed outside if she’s determined it’s one of her keepsakes.
Sophie is an extrovert and loves pats and cuddles from adults and kids alike. If you want to meet all the other dog lovers in your neighbourhood, Sophie will help. She'd love to join her humans on errands or a day out at the cafe for a chance to meet lots of new people! She wants to be the main character in her human's lives, not a support act.
Sophie is still a puppy at heart so her ideal home would be an active household with lots going on and someone home more often than not, to channel her energy into activities. Sophie really likes kids and her perfect home would have kids over 5, who can understand the need to give her space when sleeping (she can get a fright if woken suddenly). She would love to live with at least one canine companion to run around with. She needs space to burn off energy, so she'd be most suited to a home with a yard or large playroom. She has no trouble with closed stairs.
She hasn't been tested with small dogs but hasn't shown any signs of reactivity when seeing them from afar. She is not OK with cats.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.

Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
greytgreys.org/adopt/apply
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $375.00 and must be paid before the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support!
