About Alfie
If you've ever dreamed of a pet with the loyalty and goofiness of a Labrador, but the independence and grace of a cat, the "Dog" is your dream come true.
Yes, his name is Dog. No, he's not confused-he just embodies everything you love about man's best friend...in feline form. This gentle giant will greet you at the door, follow you around the house like a shadow, and flop dramatically at your feet for belly rubs (which he actually enjoys).
Dog is a seasoned pro at napping, loafing in sunbeams, and warming laps. He's mellow, affectionate, and deeply committed to being wherever you are-whether you're reading a book, working from home, or binge-watching your favorite shows. Expect deep eye contact, soft headbutts, and the occasional chirp to let you know he's thinking about you.
Dog may be nine, but he's got plenty of love, zoomies, and biscuits left in him. He's not interested in drama-just peace, love, and lots of chin scratches.
If you're looking for a calm, quirky, and affectionate companion who will love you like a loyal pup but purr like a pro, Dog might just be your perfect match.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
