About Tootsie
Meet Tootsie, a dainty and delightful chocolate Toy Poodle, seeking a calm and loving home to call her own. She was born on 16 January 2024 and weighs 2.7kgs.
Poodles are renowned for their hypoallergenic qualities. Tootsie has a curly, non-shedding coat that makes her a great choice for allergy sufferers.
Initially reactive to loud noises and rapid movements, Tootsie has grown in confidence to the point that her foster mum now describes her as "playful, happy and outgoing at home, but still cautious and unsure in an unfamilliar environment".
She gets along extremely well with the resident dogs and on cold Winter days you'll find them snuggled up together as they snooze the day away.
Tootsie is agile and energetic. She can scamper up and down the front stairs without a care. In her more playful moments, she will show off her dancing and prancing skills. She enjoys sitting on her foster mum's lap, but is not needy or jealous.
Outside the home, Tootsie enjoys a good walk on leash, attaching herself closely to her foster mum's side for reassurance and comfort. An intelligent little girl, she knows where she's safe.
She also enjoys a ride in the car and is a relaxed but observant traveller.
Tootsie is house-trained and sleeps happily through the night. She sounds the bark alarm if someone knocks on the door or walks past the front gate, so she's a good little watchdog.
She is a fussy eater and, if distracted, will need encouragement to make inroads into her meal. Once firmly settled into her forever home, however, we think her appetite will improve as her anxiety abates.
This sweet girl will thrive in a gentle, calm and loving home where her newfound confidence can blossom further. With a fondness for canine companionship, Tootsie would be happiest in a quiet household with another small friendly dog. As she is sensitive to noise and sharp movements, she is probably not suited to a home with children.
If you're seeking a devoted, sweet-natured dog to share your life and heart with, look no further than Tootsie.
