About Denver
Introducing Denver, a soft-natured, gentle and affectionate male Rottie x Amstaff puppy born on 1 January 2025.
Denver’s mum is a Rottweiler and his dad is an American Staffordshire Terrier, a hybrid mix known as the Staffweiler.
Denver is a sweet and gentle soul with a placid temperament. Although he’s happy to play with his littermates and all the other dogs at his rural foster home, he’s not keen on too much rough and tumble games and is generally happier to sit back and watch or just snooze in the sun.
The Rottweiler we know today descends from mastiffs that lived in the Roman Empire more than 2,000 years ago. An ancient breed, they have a long history of being loyal and protective companions, qualities Dakota is sure to inherit.
Amstaffs are known for their loving temperament. They are affectionate, loyal and protective of family members. They are also intelligent and eager to please, which makes them highly trainable. They are not lounge lizards and require a moderate amount of exercise and mental stimulation.
Denver will inherit these qualities to varying degrees, but one thing’s for sure, he will be a big dog - and with big dogs come big responsibilites, including training, exercise, and care. In particular, the Staffweiler should be obedience-trained and well socialised from a very young age.
With consistent training and early socialization, Denver promises to be a loyal and loving family dog. He will flourish in a home with large dog experience and where he is regarded as an integral member of the family. It is crucial for potential applicants to know he will not do well if left alone in the backyard for lengthy periods.
If you are a strong and confident dog lover and you're looking to welcome an intelligent, affectionate, and loyal dog into your life, Denver could be the boy for you.
He is offered for adoption under the terms of our Deferred Desexing Program, which means he can go to his new home undesexed on the condition that his new family have him desexed at our cost when age appropriate. Terms and conditions apply.
If you wish to express interest in Denver, please complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and include photos of your yard and fencing because, as always, secure fencing is essential.
Prior Rottie, Amstaff or other large breed experience will be viewed favourably.
