===========================================================
Meet August!
This sweet young man came to us with his mum and siblings after a wonderful lady was taking care of them.
The final straw for her to find them homes was when then-little August jumped onto her mower!
She contacted us and the rest is history (all the kitties are named after lovely June).
His biggest highlight is how confident and smoochy he is. He absolutely loves meowing out for pats and cuddling his carer's hand.
August is deaf, which is common for all white cats (and why he wasn't scared by the active mower!). His current foster carer is currently teaching him some basic signs. (Which will be provided to you).
Communicating with a deaf kitty makes them feel much more included and secure.
Despite being a big teenager, he is still full of energy! He loves to play with pretty much anything, and will play until exhausted. His current foster carer had a successful game of catch with a ballpit ball the first night in her care.
He could absolutely be trained to do tricks or to do smart games.
August has shown he's quite smart, working out how to open or navigate the foster setup and barriers immediately. Puzzle games could be a good enrichment.
In his first foster home he happy coexisted with a dog. However the dogs from his failed adoption found him too energetic and barked at him (which he obviously couldn't hear and understand). So any dogs would have to be patient or happy to be played with.
He was returned due to the dogs barking...
There are no dogs in his current foster home, but he gets along well with the other foster cats. A playmate for his energy is recommended in his forever home.
Research on deaf cats is highly recommended, but the foster carer can talk to you about his needs.
