About Garnet
Garnet is a true gem of a puppy!
This girl is beautiful both inside and out. She has a really unique patterned coat with a lovely white stripe down the front of her. People notice her wherever she goes and are drawn in to say hello. Garnet easily wins her admirers over with her beautiful nature. She is a sweet girl who will take all the pats and kisses you would like to giver her. One of Garnet’s favourite things are bedtime cuddles with her foster carer, but really, she will take snuggles anytime! She naturally has a gentle and calm temperament that just makes her a pleasure to have around. Garnet enjoys hanging with the family in the evening to watch TV and during the day she has no issue staying home with the other two doggies in her foster home when her carer is at work.
Garnet is currently living with two other similarly sized dogs. She loves to run around playing with them and having a good wrestling game. She often likes to get her favourite toy and drop it in front of the other dogs before trying to coax them into a game with an adorable play bow. Garnet is naturally more submissive when meeting new doggy friends but always friendly. It would be ideal for her new owner to have a network of friends/family with friendly dogs that Garnet could regularly socialise and have playdates with. She is expected to be a medium sized dog when fully grown and have moderate energy levels. Garnet will require daily exercise and some mental stimulation to keep her happy and healthy throughout her life.
While in foster carer, Garnet has been learning what it is like to live in a loving home environment. She is quite well mannered, is toilet trained and slotted into her foster home easily. She is food motivated but has even learnt to sit and wait patiently for her dinner. Garnet walks really well on the lead, either besides you or just behind you. She really enjoys getting out and about, particularly to the local river as she is a bit of a water baby! She doesn’t even mind bath time!
You must be wondering why such a great little dog is in rescue – Garnet found herself in a pound in rural NSW where her time was up, and we knew we just had to get her to safety as the pound rangers had nothing but good things to say about her. We are looking for a dog experienced home for Garnet with owners who will continue her journey into becoming a wonderful adult canine citizen. She will benefit from someone willing to continue her training and exposure to new places. Garnet is the type of dog who can become that great café or pub companion who would also be up for adventures like hikes or camping trips.
Garnet would be the ideal second dog for someone looking to expand their family as she loves the companionship of the other dogs in her foster home. Any resident dog should be a friendly adult dog who is already fully trained and ready to be a great role model for her. Garnet could also be the apple of her new owner’s eye and be an only dog as long as her new owner is willing to support the transition for her and build her independence over time. This little girl shows a lovely temperament towards other animals as she is not interested in chasing the possums on the fence and just watches the neighbours cat wander by; however, she hasn’t actually lived with another animal before so she would need to be introduced gradually and given appropriate training.
Beautiful Garnet shines so brightly and we are so pleased to give her the opportunity now to live a long and happy life. If you would like to make this gorgeous girl a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of lifestyle you can offer our little gem Garnet.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
