About Norman STA013090
Meet Norman, a strikingly handsome feline who is not just a treat for the eyes but also a loving companion full of charm. With a preference for the ladies, Norman knows how to make a special connection. That said, he is still quite friendly with men, making him a versatile addition to any home that appreciates a touch of feline elegance.
Norman is affectionate and playful, always ready for a game or a cuddle. There's no place he'd rather be than curled up on your lap, purring contentedly. While he is a curious cat by nature, he prefers a peaceful environment without loud noises or unexpected disturbances, making him perfect for homes without young children.
One of Norman's delightful traits is his fondness for a good meal. He won't hesitate to show interest in your food as much as his own. Norman's laid-back attitude means he's willing to share his space with a friendly and calm canine.
Norman is FIV+ so must be indoor only for his safety and the safety of other felines in the area.
From his Foster Home -
Norman is a very sweet and affectionate boy, very clingy and is a super snuggler. His new family will need to be willing to give him a lot of attention. In the foster home Norman quickly became very attached to the primary carer (a female) and rarely left her side, indicating a level of insecurity and lack of confidence. He enjoyed pats and contact with the male in the household but would always gravitate to the female at every opportunity, lying next to and on top of her, and would frequently rub his face on hers, all whilst purring and kneading away.
Norman has been very easy to handle in the foster home. Good with being picked up and loves pats. Was also very good when having his nails trimmed and being brushed. He is very food obsessed. He will stick his face and paws in your plates of food at every opportunity. In foster he learned to eat from basic food enrichment toys such as Licki Mats, kitty Kong, and toilet roll tubes with one end closed and one end open. He will benefit from being introduced to other food puzzle toys to eat his daily meals out of, starting off easy to avoid him giving up from frustration, then building up the difficulty over time. He may also benefit from crate training so that he can relax in there with a licki mat(for example) when the family is having dinner so that he doesn’t try to steal food from their plates. Norman will also benefit from his new owner doing tricks training with him.
Likes:

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
