🐾 Meet Jacky Chan Peggotty 🐾
Looking for a little shadow who'll follow you with adoring eyes and a
wagging tail? Say hello to Jacky Chan Peggotty—a bright, playful, and
affectionate young pup with a whole lot of heart and a dash of spunk!
Jacky Chan is a classic Jack Russell mix — energetic during playtime but
surprisingly calm and respectful outside of it. He's incredibly social,
great with other dogs (respectfully asking to play and backing off if
it's a no) and absolutely thrives on human attention. He loves toys, is
clever and eager to learn and just wants to make his people happy.
Jacky is also happy to travel in the car and accompany you, whether
running errands or enjoying a day out exploring the world.
💛 Personality & Background:
Jacky Chan shows signs of having had a rough start—he's a little
skittish around raised hands or if he thinks he's done something wrong,
suggesting he may have been mistreated in the past. He's also a bit of a
food scavenger, possibly due to competition or scarcity when younger.
With a consistent feeding routine and love, he's already starting to
settle.
🏡 Ideal Home:
Jacky needs a home with:
Someone home most of the time (work-from-home or stay-at-home adult
preferred)
Another well-trained, active dog to learn from and play with, but may be
fine as an only dog
provided he can spend most of the day with his human/s
Older children or adults who understand his gentle nature
A secure yard for zoomies and exploring
He struggles with separation anxiety and isn't ready to be left alone
for long periods. He finds great comfort in people and dog companions
alike.
🐕 Training & Needs:
Is house trained and has mastered the doggy door
Walks well on lead – still a bit distracted by all the smells!
Knows "sit" and is intelligent and eager to learn more
Sleeps best on a dog bed right next to his human – bonus points if he
can touch you with a paw!
🐾 Other Info:
Good with other dogs – gentle, polite, and respectful
Not tested with cats but chases birds outside (shows minimal interest in
caged indoor bird)
No signs of aggression or guarding – just a strong drive for food!
A little nervous being picked up, but handles it well and travels okay
in a crate

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
