About Maple
Hello! My name is Maple đ and the answer is YES! I am indeed as sweet as my name suggests.
Itâs a wonder how I found myself in the pound and no one claimed me. But thatâs okay⊠because I am excited to give my love to my furever family!
I believe I am a 7ish month old Labrador x Kelpie mix. People would describe me as affectionate, curious, and playful! I love meeting new people and getting all the pats I can. In fact, I just love being around anyone and everyone!
I get along well with my foster brother who is another working breed, and enjoy making him chase me when I have his ball. I also live with chickens which Iâm not interested in, although I do find the horse quite intriguing. Sometimes I like to sniff her before she gets sick of me and walks away.
I am glad to say I am toilet trained, have good recall, enjoy a good nightâs sleep and settle quite well when I need to relax. I donât even mind when my foster parents are working long shifts and I have to hang out with my foster brother in the yard. Apparently I rarely bark!
Sometimes I do wander around the house looking for food⊠because whatâs better than food!? I love learning new things because thatâs when my foster parents bring out all the treats! Iâm working on my basic manners and leashed walks.
I havenât been around kids but sometimes I get a bit excited and jump, so perhaps older kids would be better if my future family has them.
My foster mum says my new home needs good fencing to keep me safe.
I canât wait to meet my future family!

Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the âmeet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
