Herbert (or Herb, Herbie—whichever suits the moment) has been showered with love and care during his time in rescue, but now it’s time for him to find his perfect forever home. After a long and difficult journey, this charming senior cat is ready to spend his golden years with a family who will cherish him as much as he will cherish them.

Herbert has overcome more than his fair share of challenges. He came into rescue with various health issues, the most serious being FIP. Thankfully, after undergoing extensive treatment, Herbert has fully recovered and continues to thrive with no signs of relapse. (See medical notes below for more details.)

Herbert is a cat with layers—he loves both his quiet moments and his bursts of energy. He enjoys the company of other playful cats and thrives in an environment where he can zoom around with a friend. While he might take a moment to warm up, once comfortable, he’ll be your loyal shadow.

His favorite pastimes include curling up in his favourite napping spots, engaging in playtime with other cats, chasing after toy wands, balls, and kicker toys, and dashing across his domain in a classic case of the zoomies.

Herbert’s love language is simple: head bumps and scratches. He adores human companionship and will never be far from your side. If you’re relaxing on the couch, expect Herbert to be curled up beside you. If you’re heading to bed, be prepared for him to snuggle up right next to you (or even on top of you!).

He also has a quirky and endearing personality—whether he’s following you into the bathroom, curiously inspecting your meals (he’s particularly interested in chicken), or simply demanding attention in the most charming way possible.

Herbert is looking for a loving home where he can be adored for the unique and resilient cat that he is. His ideal home includes a human (or humans) who will give him all the love and attention he craves, a cat companion who enjoys playtime as much as he does (though he’d also be fine as a solo cat), and a willingness to monitor his health and provide care when necessary.

Herbert is a one-of-a-kind cat with a story of resilience, love, and personality. If you’re ready to welcome this special senior into your heart and home, he’ll reward you with plenty of companionship, cuddles, and unforgettable moments.
